Back in the day before parents became accustomed to buying oodles of $40 toys from China, this was the smallest set we sold. But these days it is viewed as pretty big for apartment living. It requires a smallish bookcase and a couple of shoe box sized plastic containers. This it is a real set of blocks intended for a precocious 6-7 year old and allows a free range of imagination. I am often confused by parents who suppose the creativity is in the toy, but this one will provide hours of free expression from the budding builder and is a balanced set to work toward if you've started with something smaller.
