These Pine wood triangles are the same material as the Pine lumber from the lumber store. They are nominally 3/4" thick. They are useful where KD hardwood products would be overly expensive or where the item is to be painted, or only used for a time. They may have some sound, harmless knots or other minor surface defects, but they take paint or stain well and sand easily. They are softer than most hardwoods but not better or worse in any real sense. Your house is made of Pine - Pine is a wonderful, versatile material that has strangely gotten the reputation for being mediocre. I don't know why. Our triangles have smooth faces, crisp edges, and corners. It's easy to soften the edges and corners further with a little sandpaper.
